At HCOM, our goal is to foster a supportive and inclusive environment where users can engage in meaningful conversations about health and wellness. To achieve this, we have established a set of community guidelines that apply to everyone on the platform.

Our philosophy is simple: credibility, not virality. This means we prioritize the quality and safety of conversations over engagement metrics.

Core Principles of Our Guidelines:

  • Be Respectful: We encourage open discussion, but personal attacks, harassment, and hate speech have no place on HCOM. Disagreements are fine; disrespect is not.
  • No Medical Misinformation: While we encourage sharing personal experiences, providing unverified medical advice is strictly prohibited. Verified professionals are clearly marked to distinguish their contributions.
  • Protect Privacy: Do not share personal health information of others without their explicit consent. Respect the privacy and sensitivity of the topics being discussed.
  • Keep it Relevant: Content should be relevant to the community or topic being discussed. Spam, self-promotion, and off-topic content may be removed to keep conversations focused.

How We Enforce Our Guidelines

We use a combination of proactive moderation by trained professionals and community-driven reporting. When content is flagged, our team reviews it against our policies. Actions may range from a simple warning to permanent removal from the platform, depending on the severity of the violation.

Our commitment is to create a space where everyone, from patients to professionals, can connect with confidence. These guidelines are the foundation of that commitment.
